Editorial standards and how we work
Choosing topics. We cover developments that materially affect people navigating the U.S. immigration system — new rules, court decisions, agency policy, and changes in the Federal Register — prioritizing what is verifiable and consequential over what is merely loud.
Primary sources. Wherever possible we work from primary documents: statutes, regulations, court opinions and dockets, and official agency notices. We attribute claims and link to their sources, and we publish news only when a development is corroborated across multiple independent sources.
Expert legal review. Selected explainers are reviewed or commented on by licensed immigration attorneys, identified on the article. This is editorial review for accuracy — not legal representation of readers, and not a referral service.
Updates and corrections. Immigration law changes often; we update articles when the law or policy shifts, and we correct confirmed errors promptly.
